Dickenson County Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List Openings May 2024
Applicants can apply online using a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. Please be aware that some older mobile devices may not be compatible with the application.

All agencies have a local residency preference. If you do not live/work or have been hired to work in an agency’s service area when your eligibility is determined, then you will not be able to exercise portability and will be required to relocate to the service area in order to receive a voucher.
Example:
You live in Richmond, Virginia and apply to the ABC Agency waiting list on January 1st. ABC Agency serves Campbell County. Your application will be accepted but will be ranked on the waiting list below applicants that currently live/work or are hired to work in Campbell County. When your name reaches the top of the waiting list and ABC Agency determines if you are eligible to receive a voucher, you will not be able to exercise portability because you do not reside in ABC Agency’s service area but live in Richmond, Virginia. In order to use the voucher, you will be required to lease a unit in ABC Agency’s service area, Campbell County, for 12 months before you can exercise portability.
