VHDA Announces Our Homebuyer Handbook – The Online Edition

We now have a new and improved online class for homebuyers. VHDA's free Online Homeownership Education course includes eight sections to educate new homebuyers about the basic ins and outs of buying a home, as well as what it takes to stay on track as a responsible homeowner.

Because knowledge and good planning are the keys to making the first-time homebuying experience successful, our interactive course includes useful information on:

  • Personal finance
  • Credit reporting
  • Working with a lender
  • Role of the real estate agent
  • Virginia Fair Housing Law
  • Importance of a home inspector
  • Loan closing
  • Life as a homeowner

The goal of the course is to help participants make an informed decision about when, and if, homeownership is the right choice for them.
