Get MCC-ready!

Mortgage Credit Certificate

Attention VHDA Lenders:

VHDA will be rolling out our Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) marketing campaign to potential homebuyers and Realtors© in January. You're sure to get inquiries once the word is out about this new-to-Virginia federal tax credit that can save first-time homebuyers money.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to offer this special benefit to your customers and make more loans. For many first-time homebuyers, an MCC from VHDA can help make a home loan more affordable. We are offering webinar training sessions that will prepare you to offer this program.

MCC Lender Training

Upcoming webinar training sessions are scheduled beginning Dec. 10. This training will explain:

  • How to become an approved MCC lender
  • Procedures for originating and processing MCCs
  • MCC requirements
  • Resources to assist in promoting MCCs to your customers

To attend this training session:

Be Ready

MCC lender training ensures you'll be ready to educate Realtors and customers about how the program works. It is important for homebuyers to understand that they must ask their lender for an MCC when they first apply for their mortgage. VHDA has to approve the MCC application and issue an MCC commitment before the buyer closes on their loan.

Additional Information

You'll find MCC forms, the Participation Agreement and System Access forms - as well as direct links to important details on VHDA's sales price and loan limits - at vhda.com/mcclenderinfo.
