The Multifamily Servicing department of the VHDA Servicing & Compliance division is responsible for loan and financial subsidy administration of the multifamily portfolio. The area services the portfolio by providing customer service and performing critical loan activities including assisting in the permanent closing process, new loan setup, payment collections and processing, loss mitigation, default administration, real estate and insurance escrow account processing, escrow analysis, reserve administration, account reconciliation, mortgage confirmations, and IRS reporting. Financial subsidy administration, including budgeting and requisitioning of Federal funds, payment of monthly subsidies, subsidy accounting, and contract administration of the project-based Section 8 New Construction / Sub Rehab and Section 236 Interest Reduction Payment programs is also performed by the department.
