| Getting Started on Affordable Housing Development (GSAHD) is offered quarterly to increase the capacity of housing providers to produce quality, timely, and financially successful affordable housing projects. The course focuses on the basic elements of developing rental, homeownership, and special needs housing. The two-day course is a fast paced, highly interactive and intensive exploration of tools, concepts and principals required to be successful in developing affordable housing. Class size is limited to 25. The emphasis of the course is productivity, quality, and capacity. Participants will receive an extensive manual developed by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (VDHCD) and the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA). Essential Elements of the Development Process (Consideration in Securing the Site, Methods and Tools for Costing the Project, Resources to Fund the Project, Structuring Debt, The Construction Process, Compliance & Regulations) 4. The Disposition of the Property |

Tuition: The tuition for this two-day course is $75. This tuition will cover a morning and afternoon snack, lunch, materials, and a small portion of other charges (facility & instructor expenses).
