Results of the November, 2001 statewide housing needs assessment, combined with input from stakeholders, have guided VHDA’s strategic planning efforts. The direction provided by the needs assessment and stakeholders was framed by our vision, mission, and guiding principles. This led VHDA management and Board of Commissioners to articulate strategic goals in 2005. In 2006, these goals were combined with a set of defined outcomes and measures that supports one or more of our core goals.

This combination of goals, outcomes and measures comprise VHDA’s FY08-10 Strategic Plan. Transitional plans are being developed for each of the next two years. As soon as capital markets stabilize, and a new statewide housing needs analysis (planned for 2011) is completed, we will update our long-term strategies.
