VHDA Executive Director Susan Dewey recently spoke to U.S. News & World Report for an article titled "9 Smart Ways to Come Up with Down Payment Cash."
In the article, she discusses the down payment assistance that state housing finance agencies such as VHDA can provide for first-time homebuyers. This help can include grants, subsidized loans and federally-insured home loans, like VHDA's FHA Plus, that can include a second mortgage to cover down payment and closing costs.
