How to Become a VHDA Originating Lender

Thank you for your interest in participating in VHDA's mortgage loan programs. Every year, with the assistance of our valued lending partners, we help thousands of Virginians realize the dream of homeownership. We do this by offering lending programs with more affordable terms, lower down payments and/or lower monthly payments than may be available through standard mortgage loans.

To be considered as a new VHDA originating lender:

  • Review the Originating Lender Participation section of our Originations Guide for details about requirements, application instructions and the approval process.
  • If you feel you meet VHDA's minimum requirements, and are ready to begin your application, please complete the documents below.
  • Mail your completed documents, along with evidence of errors and omissions insurance, a certificate of fidelity bond coverage and current financial statements to:

    Virginia Housing Development Authority
Attn: Sandy Redd, Business Partner Product Manager
    601 South Belvidere Street
    Richmond, VA 23220

Typically the application process is completed within 30 days of submission. Upon your approval, required training can be scheduled.

If you have any questions, please call Sandy Redd at 804-343-5820.
