Virginia Housing Development Authority's mission is to help our fellow Virginians obtain, safe, quality, and affordable housing.

The Virginia Housing Directory was originally conceived to be a listing of non-profit housing organizations throughout the state of Virginia, however; over its eleven year history has grown to include all important resources and relevant organizations dealing with the provision, maintenance or advocacy for affordable housing. Multicultural and sustainable building resources are also included.

The Directory's resources include, but are not limited to:

  • State and Federal Affordable Housing Programs
  • Statewide and Local Non-profit Housing Organizations
  • Certified Domestic Violence Prevention Centers
  • Homeless Shelters Receiving State Funds
  • Local Habitat for Humanity Chapters
  • Local Public Housing Authorities
  • City/County Administrators
  • Local Social Services Offices
  • Local Area Agencies on Aging
  • Virginia Legal Services Local Offices
  • Local Community Service Boards
  • VHDA's Homeownership Educational Programs
